Lysine

Lysine is also known as an amino acid, a building block of the protein, and is used in alternative medicine to treat colds and wounds caused by herpes simplex. Other applications not proven in research include the treatment of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, liver cancer and liver cancer. Lysine is also known as an amino acid building block of proteins as well as in the production of many other proteins. Sources: 5

Lysine should not be used in combination with medications prescribed by your doctor for the treatment of any type of cancer, heart disease, diabetes or liver cancer. Lysine is what you need to get from food, but some evidence suggests that supplementary lysine may be able to prevent the development of certain cancers such as pancreatic and liver cancer, as well as certain types of liver disease. Sources: 0, 5

Although the evidence is not convincing, you may be able to limit your intake of foods that contain a lot of arginine, such as meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy products. The requirements could be higher for people recovering from serious injuries, in particular burns, as well as for people with diabetes. Sources: 0

A small study suggests that regular use of lysine preparations may help prevent the spread of herpes simplex virus infections in the genital area, although other studies have shown no benefit. Cold sores and genital herpes are caused by a virus called HerpesSimplex. Infection with the herpes simplex virus causes herpes labialis, better known as cold sores, which causes sore throat, cold sores and a sore vagina. Sources: 0, 1

A number of older clinical studies have shown that oral lysine preparations can help prevent the recurrence of cold sores and prevent the spread of herpes simplex virus infections in the genital area. There is evidence that Lynin, taken orally, is effective in the treatment and prevention of cold sores. According to a recent study by the University of California, San Diego, specific herbal products containing lyenne and zinc can shorten the duration of a cold. Sources: 1

According to an article in Clinical Advisor, one of the reasons lysine is said to help reduce cold outbreaks is that the amino acid can interfere with the activity of arginine, another amino acid. So far, studies focusing on lynx and cold sores in humans have not drawn clear conclusions. PennState points out that lynx preparations can potentially help reduce the incidence of colds, but not all experts believe they work. The Mayo Clinic lists a number of possible side effects of the use of lyenne and zinc in the treatment of a cold. Sources: 3

A 1984 study published in the Archives of Dermatology examined the use of lysine as a treatment for cold sores in mice and humans, but found no evidence of its efficacy in humans. The Clinician’s Journal reveals that there has been no large-scale study of Lyenne’s efficacy in treating or preventing colds, and that high doses (3 grams per day) do not appear to have a positive effect on patients. A study published by Integrative Medicine indicates that randomized controlled trials of lynx drugs for the treatment of colds have found no evidence of Lyenne’s efficacy. Sources: 3, 4

The topical use of lysine as an ointment has also been investigated for herpes simplex infections as well as for the treatment of cold sores. Sources: 4

In a 2005 study of 30 patients, for example, scientists found that cold sores were dissolved with a lysine zinc oxide-based ointment called super-lysine, which was applied topically for two hours. Experts believe Lyine is most effective when people take it with water or on an empty stomach. Usually people take Lynin in their mouths and apply it to the skin to treat a cold sore, but experts believe it can also be most successful when taken by people without water and with an empty stomach, as well as in combination with other medications. Sources: 2, 4

The researchers estimated that 70 kg (kg) per person is needed for a single dose of lysine, or about 1,000 mg per day, to treat colds. Sources: 2

In developing countries, most people do not get enough lysine in their diet, so you need to make some adjustments to your diet. Most people can get enough of themselves through a balanced diet with at least 1,000 mg of healthy fats such as fruit, vegetables and nuts per day. Sources: 2, 4

When purchasing lysine supplements or herbal supplements, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) recommends paying attention to the Supplement Facts label of the purchased product. If you are interested in using a lyin supplement to treat or prevent a specific health problem, you should consult your doctor before starting a supplement therapy. Sources: 4

The label will contain important information, including the amount of active ingredients and portions, as well as all added ingredients. Lysine is an essential amino acid that is indispensable for the production of proteins that the body cannot produce and that people need to obtain from food sources. Sources: 2, 4
